This program sounds amazing! How does the application process work?

The first step is to fill out our short application. We'll take a close look at what you write here, so show us who you truly are and tell us why fashion inspires you. Your motivation, passion, and point of view should be on display. However, don’t think of this as a test. Think of it as a chance to tell your story.

Look for an email response to your application in 2 to 3 business days with more information on our payment plan options and how to enroll.

I’ve been accepted (Yay!).  How do I secure my spot in a certificate program?

That’s easy. If you’ve received your invitation into the program, you will receive an acceptance email with a link to enroll and submit your payment. Once we have received your tuition payment, your spot will be secured.

What payment methods and currencies do you accept?

We accept almost any type of credit or debit card. So if you have a Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB, or Discover card, we’ll accept it.  If you’re enrolling outside the United States, tuition will be charged in your local currency at the prevailing currency exchange rate.

Do you offer payment plan options?

Yes!  Our mission is to make education accessible, which means also offering options that make it easier for students to make their tuition payment. You can pay up front, of course, but you can choose to pay in three installments.

All we need is for you to make the first installment when you register — this confirms your spot in the program — then make your subsequent payments monthly. We offer several payment options to fit any budget.  Shoot us an email at hello@teenvogue.parsons.edu to discuss the available plans. To receive your Certificate of completion, you’ll need to have all installments paid in full and have successfully completed all program requirements.

What is your cancellation policy?

You can withdraw from a session hassle-free and at no-cost within 24 hours of enrollment.  After that, you have up to 7 days to withdraw and get a full refund, minus a $100 cancellation fee. Sorry! No refunds will be issued for enrollments past 7 days.

If I pay for this program, do I own the class videos?

Just like an online course you may have taken before, you own all the knowledge and experience you gain from the program, but unfortunately, you do not own the class videos or materials. However, once enrolled, you will have access to all videos and materials for 12 months.

How long do I have access to the program?  And what if I need more time?

With your enrollment, you will have access to the full program for 1 year (12 months, 365 days) from the first time you log into the program. There’s a lot to cover, and we know life is busy, which is why we give our students plenty of time to work through everything.

What can I expect to accomplish by the end of this course?

By the end of the course, you will have developed the skills and knowledge you need to successfully break into fashion. Specifically, you’ll have:

  • Received an official Certificate in Fashion Industry Essentials from the Parsons School of Design. This credential is non-credit, meaning you don’t need to have a Bachelor’s or equivalent to enroll, and that you can still proudly add to your LinkedIn profile and your resume. It is a credential that can open doors to a future in fashion.
  • Learned how to build a portfolio and will have elements of your portfolio reviewed and evaluated by industry experts
  • Explored the various career paths in the fashion industry - design, entrepreneurship, media, and more
  • Learned how to present yourself and deliver a pitch to hiring managers
  • Identified a career path and your area of passion within the world of fashion
  • Built an online presence for your personal brand across various social media platforms
  • Learned critical social media marketing and networking skills

Who are my fellow students?

People like you — passionate about fashion and seeking to build a successful career doing what they love!

They might be working in fashion looking to get ahead or working in a different industry looking to switch careers.

They might be heading to college, in college, or just out of college and want to build skills and gain valuable experience that will set them apart in a hyper-competitive industry.

They might be your future professional and personal network in the fashion world.

They might be like you  a future leader in fashion.

Where do I find the program materials?

We want you to succeed (and we love the environment)!  That’s why we made sure that we kept all program materials online. You can access and review the materials whenever you like through the course login page, which you’ll receive once you enroll — all you need is an internet-connected device.  Additionally, the Teen Vogue Career Handbook is also required reading.  We recommend the digital edition.  No paper + no books = no trees harmed.

Which devices can I use to watch the class videos and access other program materials?

You can access the program on your computer, tablet, or smartphone, but the best experience is on your computer. Shoot us a note at hello@teenvogue.parsons.edu if you’d like to see specific materials or functionality designed for mobile or TV screens (a la Roku).

When and where do the classes meet?

Whenever you like — the program is entirely self-paced and on-demand. You can study and access the program lessons whenever and wherever you like.

How much time do I need to dedicate to the program?

It varies from person to person, but be prepared to work hard and to dedicate about 40 hours in total.  That may sound like a lot, but you have a full year to complete the program so you can pace yourself over 12 months!

What if I get stuck?

Our program experts are available to help you with any issues. Just click the Help button at the lower right of your screen to send us your question!

After I complete the Certificate in Fashion Industry Essentials, what comes next?
